Artist's Statement
My ceramic sculptures, paintings and installations often explore an intensely personal and poetic interpretation of subconscious forces using mutant amalgamations of marine life, fungi, mythological figures and contemporary images, seen through the lens of Feminist and Jungian sensibility. I go beyond traditional ceramic decorative techniques with the use of paint and encaustic surfaces aiming to achieve vivid and subtle colour effects. In recent works I have begun to explore architectural elements used in an abstract way, focusing on distressed and weathered surfaces.
